Free Audio And Video Sites Can Help You Generate Web Traffic

With nearly endless talk about Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, we sometimes forget that there are other free ways to generate some buzz about your company, or services, or art, or music….

BlogTalkRadio

BlogTalkRadio is an online broadcasting service that lets you host live call-in radio shows FOR FREE using simply your internet connected computer and a phone.

Did you just read this correctly?

Yep.

If you want an easy way to produce audio and share it on the internet, then BlogTalkRadio is your answer.

It may be hard to believe, but it is true that you can have your own call-in broadcast show online and be an international “radio star” for an investment of $0!

The no-charge version of BlogTalkRadio allows you to broadcast (1) 30-minute show every day, and have (5) callers on at any one time. All of this for no dollars per month.

(If you want some premium services and need to host radio shows longer than 30 minutes, you could sign up for a paid version).

  • Are you an expert in something and want to give some free advice while easily directing some new traffic (visitors) to your website?
  • Are you passionate about a particular topic, and think you’d enjoy discussing it in your own voice in an open forum?

YouTube

I would tend to assume that if you don’t know what YouTube is, you’ve recently emerged from a coma. (Congratulations on your recovery!)

In any case, you should know that YouTube is the most popular video sharing site on Earth – no doubt made so popular because you can upload, share, and watch videos for free.

Many people think that creating videos for YouTube is something that is difficult or expensive. However if you take a look at a lot of the videos you find there – you’ll see after just a few moments that this cannot possibly be true.

To be kind, I’ll say that many videos on YouTube are of the “non-professional” variety – shot with “less than cinema quality” webcams, camcorders, and cell phones.

And yet, there are many such videos that are receiving an enormous amount of views!

In fact, I created a short video tutorial about the Live Bookmarks feature of the Firefox Browser and got over 1600 views (to date)  – and even a few comments from people who liked the video and joined my Channel.

And this just because someone emailed me a question about the feature, and it was easier for me to “show” than “tell”… You can check out my video here.

Creating a free YouTube Channel and then populating it with short videos that have useful information is a great way to generate traffic to your website.

But it is also a great way to enhance your Brand – and spread it across the planet for FREE.

So here we are at the end of this article, and some of you are twiddling your thumbs.

More than a few of you may even be skeptical, and wonder what the “catch” is with YouTube and BlogTalkRadio.

There is no “catch”, no “gotchas” on either of them. Of course, you should have something to say and a way to say it, but I’m guessing you knew that already.

Most people know this too – my newsletter subscribers are getting a lot more specific promotional ideas, video tutorials, and e-books.
